CONCESSION STAND INFORMATION

Job Perks:  Bring a drinking cup with lid and fountain drinks are free.  Non-packaged food items are also available to us. 

Attire: HSPN (Homeschool Sports Net) t-shirt and cap, jeans, closed toe shoes. Absolutely NO flip flops or Sandals. Long hair must be pulled back. Contact me if you do not have a HSPN t-shirt and cap. The health inspector would like us to bring minimal personal items to the stands, ie purses, etc.

Parking: Park on the west side of  Indiana Ave across the street west of the USA  by the TV tower. Buses will be provided 4 hours prior to game and 1 hour after the game to transport you to and from the football stadium.

Entrance: Gate 3A, located in NW corner of football stadium, between the Double T Store and the Tech Ticket Office. Two check ins are available at this location: one for the east stands and one for the west stands. Check in under the east stands.

Picture ID: Use must present your picture ID (picture, name, and birth date) at the sign in location. Driver’s license is sufficient. If you need a picture ID but are too young to get a driver license, contact Brody Gibson at Paramount Press, 795-7559, or by email, HYPERLINK "mailto:brody@parapress.net" brody@parapress.net. Brody has a digital camera available for those who cannot provide their picture. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE STADIUM WITHOUT YOUR PICTURE ID!!

Concession Stand #10: Note New Stand Location!!  Located under the East Stadium. After entering gate 3A turn left, walk across the north Concourse, turn under the east stadium seats and walk south to the tunnel entrance for Sections 19,20,21. Stand #10 is on the south side of this tunnel entrance.

Cell Phone: If anyone has trouble locating the stand or getting in contact Marla at 239-6421 or find a Sodexho employee.

Incentives: We will be paid a flat 10% of net sales. Incentives will be given based on the amount of sells on particular items. We need to UPSALE items. Example: If a customer wants a medium coke. For $4.00, ask if they would like a 44oz for only 50 cents more. We have the potential to make 12% of net saled.

Inventory must match cash. INVENTORY IS MONEY. For example: coke cups cost the same amount empty as they do with water or coke in them. So you can’t give away an empty cup.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  • Wear disposable gloves when handling food. Ice is considered a food.
  • Change gloves as they become soiled or torn, before beginning a new task, after handling
  • Non-food items (cash, trash), before handling cooked or ready-to-eat foods, WASH HANDS between changes.
  • WASH HANDS before starting work, before handling food, after handling cash, after using the restroom, after eating, between handling different types of food (raw meat to pretzels), after coughing, sneezing or blowing nose, after touching hair, face, nose, after handling dirty equipment, after cleaning or handling chemicals, after handling trash etc. If in doubt— WASH HANDS. Guess what? They have a special sink designated just for washing hands. And absolutely nothing else. It is a no-no to use the hand washing sink for anything else.
  • Keep food contact surfaces cleaned and sanitized as you go.

UNITED SPIRIT ARENA

Job Perks:  Bring a drinking cup with lid and fountain drinks are free.  Non packaged food items are also available to us.  I will explain this process at the game.

Attire:  HSPN (Homeschool Sports Net) t-shirt and cap, jeans, closed toe shoes.  Absolutely NO flipflops or sandals. Long hair must be pulled back.   Contact me if you do not have a HSPN t-shirt and cap.

Parking:  Park on the west side of  Indiana Ave across the street west of the USA  by the TV tower. You may also park in the lot north of the horticulture building which is north of the USA.                                                                                    

Entrance:  Present picture I.D. at the check in point. You will enter the USA on the north end at the street level pedestrian tunnel.  This tunnel is located just to the east of the northeast entrance between the 2nd and 3rd lamppost (not street lights).  Walk to the glass double doors (do not go up the stairs).  Check in at the table.  Proceed to the halfway point of the long hallway, turn right at the Texas Tech Volleyball offices (glass wall), proceed to elevator on left, go to concourse level.  Both Sodexho (concessions) and G Boren employees will be checking in .  Tell them you will be working Stand #5 for HSPN (Homeschool Sports Net).  They will compare I.D. to master list.  ALLOW 15-20 MINUTES FOR THE CHECK IN PROCESS.  Allow time to park as well and walk to USA.

Concession Stand #5:  Located in the southeast corner of the United Spirit Arens.  It will be the most eastern stand in the SE corner.  Just peek in the stand and look for similarly cloned workers.

Incentives:  To receive the maximum percentage pay of the net we must meet certain requirements. 

  1. The first and most important one is having the required number of people in the stands when the gate is open.  If we don’t have the required number in the stand at the beginning then we will only earn the minimum even if we meet the other requirements.  We must maintain the  minimum # in the stand  throughout the game.  WE MUST BE IN OUR STAND BY 4:30.  I will then assign jobs and give out job discriptions.  We must be ready to serve when the gates open at 5:30.
